Then replace with Domotic all without changing the layout.īatteries and Fire Stations weren't a priority, but if you follow the 12x12 rule, you should be able to adjust to your needs as research improves buildings and frees up space. As you progress put the small version side by side, then remove them and place the medium. The medium buildings take up the same space as the earlier version. Some of the layouts list the medium building and do not have the earlier or later versions (Crew Quarters versus Optimized Quarter). Buildings without travel are shoved to the outer walls. This is to reduce travel time of resources. Stockpiles are prioritized in the center. If you are ready for the new version of the sector (such as insect farm changing to crop farms) before the entire sector is built out, you can easily delete unbuilt buildings. Resume construction on buildings as you're ready. When you're finished, pause construction on each building, then unpause game. Use this to plan/place layouts for the new sectors. You can put down and instantly destroy buildings. When you open a new sector, clear all the resources you can. If you can change priority on something (not just cargo resources), left click lowers it, and right click raises it. Same goes for other priority screens such as sector resource management. The game remembers the order you clicked them in. Then click the one you want to be second and click as highest. Click the one you want to be first and set as highest. So, if click Iron as highest, then click Alloy as highest also, the ship will go for Iron over Alloy. But since all sectors use food and should have a food stockpile, any ship could get food in space, unload it, and not have to transfer to another sector to be used.Ĭargo ship prioritize highest to lowest and first clicked. Those ships could also collect food in space since most of your food stockpile should be in this sector. For instance, only the cargo ships in the crop farm sector should be collecting ice and unloading at that dock since it is only used in that sector. Use the logistics panel to manage a sector’s storage, resources, and limits.įurther, receive resources at an appropriate dock to avoid movement within Tiqqun. No need to use an entire stockpile for 6 electronics. Stockpiles can store more than 1 type of resource. Hover over the food icon in the resource bar to see an average of your food production over the past few cycles.Įdit: As u/bobbyfisher928 points out, this is likely a bug or unintended use. A sector missing just 1 food cycle can result in a strike which can result in a death spiral. If you have the Alloys to support the -8 to hull created by a new sector, you are ready to open a sector if you have 60 extra workers. Opening a new sector requires 40 workers, so that means you should not open a new sector unless you have 60 extra workers in a sector. If you cannot maintain that buffer, you are not ready to open a new sector. Try to keep a buffer of 20 extra workers in each sector. One will do the events, and the other will just chase down science to help speed up your research. Additionally, try to have 2 science ships. Those should be your second priority in Tech Center. There is research for the docks and science ships to increase how much science they get from missions. Research the Tech Center upgrades before anything else. You can also move ships from one dock to another by unassigning and reassigning. If you need homes or food, you should know where they're going to go eventually, so build as you need. Workers are essential to eventually, slowly, growing your station. My point was you should be expanding every resource as you can. Thanks to u/AzureFides for point out this a way to overwhelm your station. If your dock gets full, build a stockpile. When to build something, open sectors, managing resources, and other actions are up to you and the state of your gameplay. You do not have to build exactly as shown here. This is a guide to help you plan building layout, understand building spacing, avoid rebuilding to shuffle building locations, and show a few layout designs. Since I haven't had a chance to play yet, some of my information may be wrong. They both have an excellent Let’s Play, and you should check them out! I haven’t had the chance to buy and play the game yet, so their videos were my source for information. Thanks to YouTubers Caledorn and Leg-In-Dairy Gamer for their Let’s Play Ixion series. It covers optimal layout of sectors, buildings, and progression. The method used may remove some of the challenge in the game. This guide will discuss all the buildings in the game.
